Notre histoire
Tout commence avec une guitare, évidemment.
Une Gibson, en particulier.
Jérôme avait toujours rêvé de constituer un groupe international et résolument rock.
Alors qu'il travaille aux Pays-Bas pour la fameuse marque, il décide d'aller au bout de son rêve.
Dès son retour en France, il a la chance de rencontrer Kris Jenkins, un musicien anglais basé en Normandie, puis un batteur, nommé Romain Vannier, avec lesquels il monte le groupe Nutwood.
Kris est au chant et à la basse, Jérôme joue de la guitare et fait les chœurs quant à Romain, il performe à la batterie.
De ce projet aux lignes vocales pop British mêlées de riffs rock nait un EP appelé "Wake up Call". Malheureusement, le groupe se sépare peu de temps après.
A l'époque de la Covid, Jérôme réalise qu'il est lui est impossible de faire le deuil de la musique.
Il avait noué quelques contacts avec des musiciens exceptionnels tout au long de ses voyages... Il était temps d'en faire quelque chose.
Le premier que Jérôme contacte est Mark Schulman, le batteur de renommée mondiale, qui accepte tout de suite de rejoindre le projet. Cette première victoire se célèbre simultanément à celle de rallier Tony Franklin - qu'on ne présente plus - dans le groupe.
Mark propose ensuite une liste de 9 chanteurs de son entourage qui augmenteraient adéquatement leurs compositions et c'est après avoir conversé avec Gary Foote que sa femme, la chanteuse Jenny Douglas-Foote, les rejoint. Chanteuse et compositrice de renommée internationale, Jenny a tourné et enregistré avec des pointures à ne citer que Toto, Lenny Kravitz et Pink dont elle fût l'une des choristes pendant 15 ans.
Sa voix forte, émouvante et polyvalente mène alors le band beaucoup plus loin.
Après quelques mois d'enregistrement entre les Etats-Unis et la Normandie, le résultat se révèle au delà de toutes espérances...
Poursuivre l'aventure en étant un groupe à part entière devient évident.
Même si l'idée plaît à Mark et Tony, ils sont déjà trop impliqués dans leurs projets respectifs. De ce fait, Thomas Delannet à la batterie et Kris Jenkins à la basse rejoignent NTFF mi 2024 et Jenny poursuit l'aventure à pieds joints.
Et voici poindre ce 31 janvier WALK ON BY, le premier single de leur EP WAKE UP CALL à paraître le 21 mars prochain.
Our Story
It all started with a guitar, obviously. A Gibson, in particular.
Jérôme had always wanted to set up a band that would take him by the guts which must be made of an international line up and definitely rock and that could let musical fickleness flow.
So, while he was working in the Netherlands for the brand, he decided to follow his dream to the end.
Upon his return, he had the chance to meet Kris Jenkins, an English musician based in Normandy, then a drummer, named Romain Vannier, with whom he formed the group NUTWOOD.
Kris took care of vocals and bass, Jérôme played guitar and did backing vocals, while Romain played drums.
From this project with British pop vocal lines mixed with rock riffs, an LP was born called “Wake up Call”.
Unfortunately, the group shortly disbanded.
During Covid, Jérôme realized that it was impossible for him not to continue making music.
He had made some contacts with exceptional musicians throughout his travels which needed to contacted and hopefully some of them would be willing to be part of the project.
The first one Jérôme contacted was Mark Schulman, the famous world-renowned drummer.
A casual conversation later, he agreed to join what began to slowly shape like an ideal musical project.
This first victory was celebrated at the same time of the approval of Tony Franklin the Fretless bass monster, whose reputation no longer needs to be introduced.
Mark then offered a list of 9 singers from his own entourage who, according to him, would match the projet vibes.
After he spoke to Gary Foote, his wife Jenny who had already worked with Toto, Lenny Kravitz and Pink as a backing singer for 15 years, joined the band.
Her strong, moving and versatile voice put the songs on another level entirely.
After a few months of recording between the United States and Normandy, the result was simply beyond expectations.
Now continuing the adventure as a full-fledged group just became obvious.
Even if Mark and Tony liked the idea, they are too involved in their respective projects to get onboard.
As a result, Thomas on drums and Kris on bass will joined NTFF.
The 1st single from their EP "Wake Up Call" called "Walk On By" is set to be released on Jan 31st. The EP will be released on MAR 21st.
